The Pros and Cons
In our busy lives we
all want to learn but can have trouble making the space in our
schedules. If this is your situation, then self-study may be the best
pathway for you.
The Pros of
self-study and buying the "materials-only" is that you can work
through the lectures and workshops without pressure or timelines. You
can therefore use it as a gift to yourself, a thing that you are
doing for yourself alone.
The other major pro of
self- study is that it enables you to try out some of the Astro
Logos' material teaching methods, lecturing style and notes with a
smaller outlay.
The Cons of self-study is that, often when we have no pressure on us to complete something,
we never get around to it. By enrolling in the course of your choice
you will have a timetable for when assignments are due which
motivates you through the course material and apply and understand
the techniques with each assignment. Also, of course, there is no tutor
support and no fellow student support and thus no feedback on your
work.
