Summary of
the full Professional Programme
Step 1
- Pre-enrolment assessment paper.
Before you can enrol in the
International
Guild Diploma with Astro Logos, you will firstly need to
complete the on-line application form. Then you will need to complete the pre-enrolment assessment paper. Once you are enrolled with
Astro Logos, you will automatically be writing Guild Assessment papers at
the end of each Diploma module, the
passing of which are the prerequisites to entering further modules with Astro
Logos.
The assessment paper you undertake is not
given a grade. It enables us to ascertain the level of your
astrological knowledge so that we can best advise you as to whether you are
ready to enter the diploma stream or need to undertake studying further
astrological material beforehand. There is a nominal charge for submitting
the paper which covers the tutor's time in marking and assessing it.You can download the paper free of charge from
the following link:

Step 2
- Registration and acceptance into the
programme and getting started.
Once you have been notified that you have either been successful in
passing the Pre-enrolment assessment paper OR that you have passed the
Guild assignment for the module in which you were enrolled, then you
are able to enrol for the next module. The Delineation module - the
first module - has several intakes each year.
Enrolment Periods
August to start in
September or December/January to commence in
February . Students may enrol early in order to receive their
course materials ahead of schedule.
The Lectures and
Materials
All Astro Logos courses
are run as e-Learning
courses (known as distance education or open learning) and follow the syllabus set out by the
A.G.E. Int.
You need to own or have the use of a computer that has a CD or a DVD
drive and a sound card.
The course materials
consist of CDs that are MP3 files and text files. These open
automatically on your computer when you place them in the CD drive.
From there you select the lecture to which you wish to listen, as well
as open the different handouts and notes.
You work to a set
timetable and you can email us at any time with questions, or join in the student
forum. We encourage you to engage with us in communication.
Step 3
- Beginning with the Astro Logos Certificate.
By following the links on the top left of this page you can
find more information about each one of the six Diploma modules. Briefly, there six modules in the Astro Logos International
Diploma course: the first two are the Delineation and Predictive
Astrology modules, both of which are six months in duration each.
The first module to be studied is the:
Delineation
module which has two levels. Level 1 consists of learning how to
delineate simple aspects in a chart. Level 2 teaches you how to delineate
the whole chart for client work.
Once these two
levels have been successfully completed, the second
module to be studied is the:
Predictive
Module which also has two levels. Level one
consists of
basic predictive work.
Level 2
teaches you how to delineate the
predictive work for clients.
Upon the successful completion of these two modules
you will be awarded the Astro Logos Certificate of Astrology.
This also means that you will have completed two of the six modules
which make up the Astro Logos Diploma stream.
Step 4 - Becoming a Professional
Astrologer.
Taking the step from the Certificate to the Diploma
If you wish, you can then move beyond the Astro Logos
Certificate and complete the other four
Diploma modules in order to be prepared to sit for your A.G.E. International
Diploma as a partially-assessed student. (which means that you sit a
much shorter exam when the time comes with the Guild).
The last four modules are: Relationships, Time and Space, Weft and Weave and
Children's Charts, all of which are
each
ten weeks in duration.
Studying each Module
There are set assignments for each module and
generally a Guild Assessment paper at the end of a module. This Guild
Assessment forms part of your international diploma exam, as these
papers can, if you wish, count as cumulative assessment towards the A.G.E. Int.
Diploma Exam.
Sending in Assignments
Once you complete an assignment which averages about 500-to-700 words
about some feature of a chart or topic you have been studying, we
recommend that you email it to us. You can also use the normal
postal system, if you prefer. Once we receive your assignment, it is
marked and our preferred method of
giving feedback on your work is by writing notes on your assignment
as well as talking to you via an audio tape. The tape and your
assignment are then posted back to you through the normal postal
system.
When you complete a module
Once you have successfully completed a module, you can
either enrol in the next module being offered or take a break for a term and rejoin at a later date.
Work Load
Each
Module has
three or four assignments with one being a compulsory Guild Assignment which counts
towards your final marks in your Astro Logos Certificate or, later, your Guild Diploma Exam.
Step 5
- Taking the A.G.E. International Diploma Exam.
This Diploma exam - your final exam towards gaining your professional
qualifications as a consulting astrologer - is external to Astro Logos.
The papers are sent
by the Exam Registrar of the A.G.E. Int.
to students from across the globe from all different schools
of astrology each November. The paper is marked by four or five different markers
from different astrological schools who are all members of the
Astrological Guild of Educators, International.
This Diploma Exam is written at home and posted back to the Exam
Registrar of the A.G.E. Int. within a set time limit.
